First results of beta testing

31 March 2015 by in OpenStack

At the beginning of this month, we sent out the first invites and officially started our beta test period. We’re already seeing a lot of activity on the OpenStack platform and we’re getting positive feedback. We’re currently expanding the number of test accounts every week.

Yesterday morning, we upgraded the platform to the latest release of OpenStack Juno (the 2014.2.2 bugfix release). We’ve done this without a notification in advance to the testers in order to see if the update procedure could be performed seamlessly without any significant impact. That seems to have been the case, but if you experienced serious issues yesterday, please let us know.

We’ve also recently upgraded our Ceph storage and made a new Ubuntu template available based on the 14.04.2 LTS release.

If you really want to get the most out of your OpenStack platform, we highly recommend you try using the API for deployment, templating, automation and orchestration. Only then will you see the real advantages OpenStack has to offer. The best way to harness the API is by using the CLI tools. Our community and support website contains instructions to help you get started.

We’re currently working on preliminary pricing and will share this with you as soon as possible.
